Drug rehab Melbourne, drug rehab Brisbane, drug rehab Sydney – is it the right option for you to get off heroin?

It’s true, unlike other drugs, heroin has a significant physical withdrawal component to overcome.

But does that mean you have to go to rehab for 30, 60 or 90 days? Not necessarily…

You might be feeling:

Sick…

Tired…

Or even sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

If you are reading this you have probably tried most treatment options..

Contemporary addiction programs

Heroin addiction has a reputation because it’s one of the most powerful addictions in the world.

Heroin comes from the opium poppy plant and is probably the most famous and well know opiate drug in the world.

While heroin can contribute to feelings of euphoria and pain relief in the short term, it comes with a range of very harmful effects, including infertility, damage to the heart, lungs, and brain, with a high potential for death due to overdose.

We treat opiate addiction differently at Connection Based Living. Unlike most other providers who don’t consider you clean or in recovery if you are on replacement medication…we do.

Recovery is about growth, healing and happiness – so if you are interested in seeing how we can help you achieve results in your life, check out our program options

ASK YOURSELF

Do You Need To Change Your Relationship With Heroin?

Below is some information on the effects of Heroin. Heroin affects everyone differently, based on:

  • the person’s size, weight and health
  • whether the person is used to taking it
  • whether other drugs are taken around the same time
  • the amount taken
  • the strength of the drug (it varies from batch to batch)

You will experience the below effects, which will last for 3 to 5 hours:

  • intense pleasure and pain relief
  • relaxation, drowsiness and clumsiness
  • confusion
  • slurred and slow speech
  • slow breathing and heartbeat
  • dry mouth
  • tiny pupils
  • reduced appetite and vomiting
  • decreased sex drive

If injecting drugs, there is an increased risk of:

  • tetanus
  • infection
  • vein damage

If sharing needles, there is an increased risk of:

  • hepatitis B
  • hepatitis C
  • HIV and AIDS

Overdose

If you take a considerable amount or have a strong batch, you could overdose. Please call emergency services straight away (ambulance officers don’t need to involve the police):

  • trouble concentrating
  • falling asleep (‘going on the nod’)
  • wanting to urinate but finding it hard to
  • itchiness
  • irregular heartbeat
  • cold, clammy skin
  • slow breathing, blue lips and fingertips
  • passing out
  • death

If you or a loved one is experiencing signs or symptoms of Heroin addiction, we would recommend that you get in touch with us and check out our program as this would indicate that some addictive patterns are starting to or have formed with Heroin use.

We would love to help and remember this isn’t a life sentence; you can continue leading an everyday life…

We need to change some stuff up.
