Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Sydney

In this article, we discuss alcohol & drug rehab in Sydney—what you should know, as well as why you need to approach things differently in the addiction changing process as well as access to a report that will reveal some interesting things about the rehab industry in Australia.

Lasting change depends on how and where those changes were made

How long does it take to form a habit? What about breaking it? According to a 2009 study, it could take anywhere between 18 to 254 days to successfully break a habit.

Not so cut and dry after all, is it?

Here at Connection Based Living, we believe in doing things differently and one of our key beliefs is about the environment in which changes are made. We believe that addiction treatment should occur in a natural environment, not one that artificially manufactures success.

Think about it like this, let’s say you took someone who has a nicotine addiction and put them on a deserted beach island without all the triggers and stresses of life.

Do you think smoking would feel necessary to them? In the beginning, maybe. But it’d be much easier for them to quit than if they were still trekking to their 9-5 job and dealing with daily stressors.

The only issue here is what happens once they return to their usual lives. This smoker would likely pick up the habit again because they haven’t learned how to quit and say no in the real world.

We’ve been in these exact situations, and dealt with the ups and downs of drug and alcohol addiction personally. That’s why we know that true, lasting change only happens while still living a normal life.

Our Sydney addiction treatment programs will teach you the ins and outs of the Connection Based Living lifestyle so you can finally see results in the fight against addiction over the long term!

Our headquarters is located in Melbourne, however, we work with clients all over Australia. Our fundamental belief behind helping people to transform out of addictive patterns is that change isn’t an event (30-90 day inpatient rehab stay) its a lifestyle change and that’s what Connection Based Living is, a way of living to achieve peace and contentment across all life domains

The state of Sydney’s drug & alcohol rehab industry

It’s no secret, drug and alcohol addiction is an issue that plagues communities around Australia. From those that are addicted to their family and friends, everyone feels the effects of addiction.

But, it’s not all doom and gloom, there are treatment options out there.

The main issue with these options, though, is telling apart the good from the bad. Unfortunately, there are some treatment providers who do the bare minimum for their patients—and even some who don’t care in the slightest.

That’s why we at Connection Based Living have made it our mission to put these fly-by-night operations out of business. And we do this by providing the absolute best addiction treatment in Sydney.

Our treatment programs focus solely on the needs of our patients—and get them lasting results in the process.

Take it from us, we’ve been around addiction for a long time, on both sides of the situation. So we’ve seen first-hand the good and bad of addiction treatments in Sydney. If you want to learn more about our experiences you can check out our “What Makes Quality Addiction Treatment” article.

5 Dodgy Practices

This report teaches you everything you need to know about drug & alcohol addiction treatment in Sydney. In particular, we focus on dodgy practices in the space that you absolutely need to avoid.

If you’re not 100% confident navigating Sydney’s drug & alcohol rehab space, our report is a must-read!

We know exactly what it’s like to wander blindly through addiction treatment options. We know all about the pain, stress, confusion and heartache of not knowing how to take the right step forward.

That’s why we want to save you from the same fate. Our Free Report dives straight into the heart of the issues with certain rehab options available. We’ve cut the fluff yet spared no important detail because knowledge is power.

Truth be told, there are some amazing addiction treatment providers out there. But, they’re undermined by those providers who only operate for their own benefit.

Many of these so-called drug & alcohol rehabilitation programs perform well below the average—some can even make the problem worse!

Having overcome addiction ourselves, we know how important finding the right solution is.

But, how can you find that solution?

We have found learning from people that have experienced these solutions firsthand.

Rewinding back a few years, our founder, Jack Nagle, was in your situation not long ago. But, he’s not only been through his own journey of addiction and recovery but he’s also been on the facilitator’s end as well.

Jack’s managed and owned multiple treatment centres in both the Public and Private Australian Rehab sectors. And unfortunately, what started out with noble intentions ended up forcing him to leave the industry because of the unfortunate events he experienced.

He’s seen firsthand the dodgy malpractices and selfishness of treatments providers that plagues addiction treatments in Sydney and the lack of tailored options for people who feel they do not fit into the normal mould of addiction.

But, instead of labelling it a lost cause and moving on, Jack decided to do something about it. And that’s how Connection Based Living was born, an industry-leading, one-on-one addiction treatment provider.

When it comes to addiction, the change process is very different for everyone and that’s why so many find the prospects of checking into in-patient rehab so confronting.

In fact, the majority of our patients have actually had more success with less traditional methods such as outpatient drug rehab in Sydney.

Want more insight into outpatient rehab and what it’s all about? Check out our article “What are the Benefits of Outpatient Drug Rehab?

Everyone deserves to find a solution to their addictions—and not get taken advantage of in the process.

That’s why we think our FREE report above will help you avoid the pitfalls of addiction treatment options, keeping money in your pocket and time on your side.

We acknowledge that the process of navigating the system and choosing the right option is really daunting. we would recommend that you book a free consultation so we can talk you through your options, help directly or point you in the right direction.

NSW & Sydneys Drug & Alcohol Rehab Data Story

We not only want to give you our perspective, but we also want to give you the hard facts and the data story behind drug, alcohol and addiction rates in Sydney.

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare’s 2019 National Drug Strategy House Hold Survey, Illicit drug use is up significantly since 2016 in most drug categories through Sydney and NSW. Please graph below taken from the AIHW website. (you can also view  clear version at

As the above graphs show there has been a significant increase in most major drug substance categories since 2016. This is an indication as to why it’s more important than ever to have the appropriate treatment options available for those who want help so that they can access help in a timely fashion that doesn’t negatively impact their lives.

We treat all substance addictions here at Connection Based Living, however, we have seen an increase in individuals presenting with Cocaine addiction in Sydney and NSW. The data above would also support this anecdotal evidence.

We have had massive success at Connection Based Living in helping people get off Cocaine because of the way in which our program is structured and the area’s we focus on in order to help people overcome their cocaine addictions.

It can be hard to get people to speak out about their Cocaine addiction due to the stigma that exists in society, however, we have been lucky enough to have Jim tell his story about recovering from Cocaine and how he achieved success with our Connection Based Living Growth Healing Program.
